What a mess.
The officials have lost complete control of the series. Not only were numerous bad calls made throughout the game on BOTH teams, they make ticky-tack calls in attempts to control the game, and then turned a blind eye to way more obvious ones.
Game 3 really messed up a lot for the Suns, there were at least 10 poor calls, and it really forced the Suns to hunker down and deal with it. Obviously, I wasn’t surprised when a few calls were made in their favor in Game 4, as somewhat of a make up, as is typical with the NBA.
HOWEVER–superstars should not get benefit of the doubt. That’s the dumbest thing ever. A foul is a foul, it’s the same if Tim Duncan smacks you, or if Jordan Farmar smacks you, in the end, you got smacked. I HATE that portion of the NBA, and it really stacks things against players who I honestly think could be better than the star players in certain situations if they weren’t punished for trying.
Replay should be introduced to the NBA, it’s almost instant regardless, what’s a few more seconds on some close calls to just watch a replay? It’s no different than the officials huddle that happens now, and it only means you’re going to get the call correct.
The NBA has been going downhill fast, and David Stern is a moron. I doubt he can even dribble a basketball, so what does he know anything about fouls, fines, and suspensions? I wish enough people actually cared about the game enough to stand up for something, and boycott and complain bad decisions made, but the country is fickle, and they can’t live without their sport, so they’re going to go to games, and watch it, regardless of how bad it’s becoming.
Pathetic.
