So I can’t quite make the leap to becoming a vegetarian. Mainly because I love beef, and let’s face it, it’s important that we eat it to get the nutrients. That being said, I am no longer going to be eating any mainsteam, manufactured meat such as the kind from KFC, or other fast food chains, as well as most restaurants and supermarkets.
You can read about the problem here at www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com
I’m not going to jump on the bandwagon and say that animals are more important than people. They were put on the earth to be eaten, lets face it, HOWEVER, I am only going to eat organic and humanely raised animals, not so much for their sake, but for mine. I don’t see how eating something that has been traumatized and mutilated before being killed is healthy for me, if anything it only detracts from the quality of the things I’m putting into my body, and that’s not good.
Below is a copy of a letter I sent to a few people in the industry, as well as the Oregonian.

Having worked in the food industry for some time now, I can assure you I am all too familiar with sub-par food being promoted and sold to customers.
I work for a Wild Seafood Company, and we specialize in selling 100% Natural seafood to customers all through the nation. While I’m not trying to promote our business through this, I am trying to provide a point of reference.
I strongly urge you to look into the matter of KFC/Tyson and their treatment of animals. Not only is it poor treatment for the sake of the animal, if you’re not even a vegetarian, like myself, it causes great concern! The methods used to kill these animals, as the traumas they endure beforehand produce a sub-par product that is being consumed by MILLIONS.
We’ve always promoted healthy eating at our company, because we know how good meat can be for you, if eaten properly and well-groomed. Obviously, chicken and beef that has been urinated on, is covered in blood and feces, and is tortured prior to it’s death does not produce a quality of meat that our childen should be eating.
Please, help us help everyone else. It’s just plain unhealthy, for our bodies AND our minds.
